ABOUT

A private record of your vote. A public record of the nation's.

HowIVoted.com exists for one reason: votes deserve to be remembered, and individual votes deserve to stay private.

Why we built this

Most people can't tell you who they voted for in a school board race three years ago, or how they voted on last year's local ballot measure. Records get lost. Memory fades. We built HowIVoted.com to fix both halves of that problem: a private place to log every vote you cast, from the presidency down to your city council, and an open window into how the country has voted in every presidential election since 1789.

Two products, one principle

Whether you're recording your own ballot or studying 235 years of national results, the principle is the same. Votes deserve to be remembered, and individual votes deserve to stay private.

How your privacy works

When you vote on HowIVoted.com, your choice is saved to your personal account. It is never displayed publicly, never shared with other users, and never tied to your name on any chart or report. Public results show aggregate totals only, how many people chose each option, nationally or by state. No individual vote is ever identifiable on the front end of this site.
